I have a 6 month old chiluaua that has parvo. I've seen it before so I know the symptoms. My family is gonna be devastated if big daddy dies. But I don't have 500 to give a vet . So I went to a feed store by my house in Memphis and the Guy that works there told me buy Neomycin and give him a half teaspoon once a day and he sold me some antibiotics pills that I have to crush up and mix with a liquid so I can shoot it in his mouth so I'm mixing it with pedialyte and he gets that every six hours and I have to keep him hydrated with pedialyte

I have a 7 month old brindle pit who has all his shots and is very playful. About a week ago he got in trouble for tearing up my couch and he stopped eating for a couple days. I was thinking it was just him being upset because he had done this before but now he has diarrea. He isnt throwing up and he is still playing depending on the day. I was terrified that he had parvo but dont have the money to take him to the vet. Now he is running around like everything is ok and holding his food down. I just wish this diarrea would go away from when he wouldnt eat. Good luck all and my GOD bless you and your k-9 kids!!

I recently got a catahoula pup and when I first got him he looked super bloaded but the lady told me he had just ate. I thought nothing of it then and over the past month he has swollen up like that about 10 more times but he has had diarrhea the entire time I have owned him and a couple times I noticed blood in it. He also has trouble breathing sometimes and gets what seems like the hickups atleast twice a day. He has a ton of energy and eats like a hog. I am questioning the the thought of cardiac parvo? If any one has any experience or input I would really appreciate it. Thanks

I used Cat's Claw for Whole Foods Market when I encounter a dog with parvo. I give them a full dropper of it the mouth then a full dropper in the anus (the anus one is diluted with a cup of warm water). Every three to four hours, I put five drops in some chicken broth and syringe fed. Every six hours syringe fed pediasure. Two to four days later, EVERY dog eat like a horse and ready to play. I have treated more than seven dogs like this and three had bloody stool. I hope this helps.

My husband bought me a puppy for Xmas this year.He is a Shih tzu and only 8 weeks old. We brought him home on the 26th of Dec. and by the 30th he was starting to slow down and throwing up. We took him to the vet and since the breeder said she gave him his parvo vacine they didnt check for parvo, even though he was throwing up, had no energy, and all the other signs of parvo. They charged us $400 for meds and er visit and sent us home, told us we "played with him to hard" which we thought odd but they are the vet. So we followed the vets instructions to the letter and he just got worse. So the next day we took him in and they said "maybe we will give him a parvo test". He was positive and the vet said he probably got it from the breeders. so far we have spent $600, the vet gave us a low price of $800 and a high price of $1500, money we really dont have but I guess we will have to put some bills off but we think he is worth it! Our Otis is in the hospital right now, it is the second day. The first day he was doing ok he was able to keep every thing down. This morning the second day he took a turn and started throwing up again. This little guy means the world to us so I have my fingers crossed!! Anybody have any tips for when he gets home on helping his recovery? Thanks for reading! Keep positive thoughts and positive things will happen! I hope that works!!

i have a 10 wk old chihuahua/shiztzu mix. i have only had her 5 days. 2 days ago she vomited and few times but was still eating and drinking and having noram bowel movements. but she was just laying around. vet said it was a mild case of parvo. he started her with two shots in office and i have been forcing pedilyte, gatorade, pedisure and water down her every hour. she is no longer throwing up and no diarrhea but now she cant stand up and can only move her head a little. she is taking and antibiotic and something for nausea. since she isnt throwing up anymore does anyone know if this means she will be ok

I have 7 three week old pitbull puppies all with parvo they contracted from theother which we adopted while pregnant. One puppy seems the worst and will not eat, I have been force feeding him plain pedialite and goats milk. The milk comes back up but not the pedialite. I have noticed that if I give them pedialite and 30 min later givethe 1/2 oz of milk it stays down. 72 hrs after the puppies have shown symptoms they seem to be moving more. Their gums are still pink and no bloody stools, I am cleaning their bed and surrounding areas every 2-3 hrs with bleach and changing all blankets to keep away feces. I am hoping that the puppies quill pull through, they are too young for vaccination and have great awaiting families! Keeping them hydrated and fed seems to be my greatest advocate but still I say a prayer. I hop this helps and god bless.
